Katherine Homer

B.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, UC Davis, 2019

Katie is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UC Davis with an emphasis on human-machine interactions. As Team Lead on the NASA HCAAM project (Human Capabilities Assessments for Autonomous Missions) she is exploring interactive feedback for complex procedures. This project has many applications but is specifically being completed to aid astronauts with complex tasks while in deep space where communication with Earth is slow or nonexistent. As part of the project, Katie is working with NASA to run an experiment in HERA (Human Exploration Research Analog).

As an undergraduate her senior design team placed third in the NASA 2018/2019 National University Design Challenge where they were honored to present their air taxi design at NASA Langley. She also had the opportunity to work on self-driving cars as an intern at Renovo.Auto in 2018.

Katie is also an animal lover and drummer.
